"Is it possible to have a company where politics are minimized, clarity is king, and team members are passionate about what they do? Absolutely. And this episode's guest, best-selling business author Patrick Lencioni, tells us how." (iTunes)
EntreLeadership was started by Dave Ramsey and features interviews with various CEOs, authors, and motivational speakers. It's a hit-or-miss podcast. You can find a listing of all the recent episodes on the podcast's website, hosted by DaveRamsey.com.
I gleaned a few insights from Lencioni. In his observation, only about 15% of organizations are healthy. Now, "healthy" is defined different ways. For churches, I use 9Marks. There are a host of other measures for private enterprise, and Lencioni explains what he means. One aspect is trust, which leads to healthy conflict:
"Trust makes conflict the pursuit of truth."
A bonus quote at the end of the episode is from someone who reminds her audience about trying to be people-pleasers: "Even if someone needs you, it does not obligate you."
